Travels by Michael CrichtonThis is what ultimately started it all, sparking my curiosity for the world in a way nothing had before. Having read (& deeply admiring) Crichton's fiction pieces, I finally picked up this book.
To my inconceivable surprise, this book ended up changing my life. Crichton's life was littered with inspiring and enthralling anecdotes, but on top of it all, it was supremely real. He is my inspiration for all things travel and exploring the depths of myself. This is my ultimate favorite book. | Bill BrysonEvery Bryson book I've read, I've loved but this was my first and my favorite of his. I've always loved writing but his flair for travel writing inspired this site. And of course, this spurred my slight obsession with Australia. | My Gracious ParentsI cannot thank my parents enough for supporting me on this adventure (and of course my whole life). Just when I think all hope is gone they always pick me up with a smile. They have always told me I can do anything I want to and that's what keeps me driving forward. Love them to the moon and back <3 |

Me and RishiMy brother is my best friend and my biggest supporter. He challenges me, supports me and most importantly is always on my side. He has always been a constant stabilizing force in my life and one that keeps pushing me towards my greatest potential. | Lindz & ILindzi has been one of my oldest friends, since we laid eyes on each other in 2nd grade. The teacher sat her next to another classmate named Lindsay and myself, thinking the two Lindsay's would hit it off. WRONG! She has been one of my best friends ever since and is a huge inspiration for me traveling around the world. Couldn't have done it without her love and support! | Me and CeciliaCecilia is literally the only person I still talk to from high school and for good reason. She always continue to amaze me with her huge heart and free spirit. She always encouraged me to do the same and I wouldn't be the same without her! Below is her amazing blog! |

B-Town BestiesThese beautiful ladies are some of my oldest and closest friends. I grew up with them and I continue to learn so many things from them everyday. I learned to never settle and strive for the things I want and love in life from them. All my life, their support has been invaluable and this was no exception. Love you sisters! | Chang Rai bandits of 2013This is the wonderful group I volunteered with in Chang Rai, Thailand in January of 2013. I still keep in touch with some of these folks but among them are one of my favorite couples in the world, Megan and Justin. They are a true testament to marrying your best friend and always pursuing incredible adventures together. Below is a link to Megan's blog and here is Justin's:
https://twoandfrowego.wordpress.com/ | Anthony Bordain - Parts UnknownAdmittedly, I only started watching this show when I came home on my break. It satisfactorily quenched my thirst for travel when I couldn't leave my couch. His honesty, quick wit and daring to explore excites me for getting back out there into this complex and beautiful world. |

MY INSPIRATIONS
“Often I feel I go to some distant region of the world to be reminded of who I really am. There is no mystery about why this should be so. Stripped of your ordinary surroundings, your friends, your daily routines, your refrigerator full of your food, your closet full of your clothes -- with all this taken away, you are forced into direct experience. Such direct experience inevitably makes you aware of who it is that is having the experience. That's not always comfortable, but it is always invigorating.” -- Michael Crichton, Travels
